The European Commission has recently announced the results of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Individual Fellowship (IF) call, which closed back in September 2020. Out of 11,382 eligible applications, 1,640 post-doctoral research projects were successful, providing a success rate of ~14%. With the cut-off scores for success ranging from 89-95% across different panels, the excellence required of MSCA applicants is readily apparent. A complete overview of the funding range for each IF-panel is available on the funding and tenders portal call page.
This was the final IF call of Horizon 2020, though the scheme will certainly be continuing in Horizon Europe under the new name of MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships (PF). In this evolved scheme, greater emphasis will be placed on impacts and synergies with other actions. Much as before though, the scheme will continue to fund both European fellowships and Global fellowships, offering career boosts to excellent researchers across all research areas.
